Hidden behind large gates and a walled garden, we were blown away by this serene luxury retreat. Caty, the friendly owner was serving breakfast at the time we arrived and it looked a real mouthwatering treat full of homemade goodies and fresh homegrown produce from the estates garden.

We love Mallorca in the winter. We enjoy just to have a good old wander and to explore the island without the (nice!) temptation to just lie on the sunlounger all day.
Here's a small insight into some of our favourite things to do in Mallorca in the milder climate ....

Can Prunera is a modernist masterpiece mansion which also houses a good collection of modern art. This is a gem hidden amongst the pretty streets in Old Town Soller. It is easy to miss or not to bother, but it is well worth the visit. The art nouveau building itself is stunning so even if you are no art fan you can’t fail to admire the architecture or to just enjoy wandering around the grand old house.

The beautiful Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art is a must to visit whilst in Palma. The exhibitions are of obvious interest to art fans, but the whole building is a great place to explore even if you have no real desire to boost your cultural intake. Es Baluard is much more than an art gallery and museum it is also a stunning building with the added bonus of great views to the Bay of Palma.

We are a little in love with this new addition to The Other Mallorca. The country retreat of Can Quatre ticks a lot of boxes. This renovated former farmhouse is in a peaceful location with fabulous views of the Tramuntana mountains, yet it is just a 10 minute stroll to the ancient town of Soller’s atmospheric main square.

Head off the beaten track and you'll be amazed what you can find. Mallorca has over 230km of aqua-blue Mediterranean coastline backed by long white sandy beaches, pretty coves and rocky headland. Much of the coastline is only accessible by tracks, footpaths or boat, and here you'll find some of the island's most beautiful beaches waiting to be explored and enjoyed.
