Dating back to 1733, Can Gaia is a peaceful oasis full of charm and character, and is only a few kilometres from pretty sandy coves and the seafronts and bustle of Cala D’Or and Portocolom.
Hidden away in the tranquil countryside surrounded by pine and lemon trees, this attractive old farmhouse has been lovingly and sympathetically restored, preserving original features and using traditional furniture and local textiles throughout.
The main farmhouse is home to the two double rooms and all junior suites and suites are in separate converted farm buildings. All these rooms have their own private terrace and most look out towards the spacious courtyard, gardens and pool at the back of the hotel.
Sarah, the Manager, and her small team add to the charm of Can Gaia. Always on hand with warm and friendly advice and dishing up a delicious and wholesome breakfast each morning. Eggs to order, breads, cheeses, meats and any seasonal produce from their own organic garden are served alfresco on the pretty sun terrace and provide a filling start to the day.
For dinner head down to the interesting little port of Portocolom which has a lovely selection of restaurants, cafes and bars. For a bit more glitz, head to Cala D’Or and its wide range of restaurants. Sarah has great tips on the best places to eat and drink in the area, as well as advice on the prettiest coves for sunbathing and a dip in the sea.
