Esplendido hotel is another exciting venture from the owners of Hotel Portixol. Sitting on the sea front in the centre of Port de Soller, this grand building has been totally renovated in the style of a modern day vintage seaside hotel. The Esplendido owners, famous for their high standards and tasteful touches, have transformed this sleeping beauty into a must-stay place for the style conscious traveller.

The building’s five floors cascade down, with each tier having private balconies or terrace areas looking out to sea. All the bedrooms are airy and light.Quirky touches of retro furnishings and wallpaper are combined with calming neutrals. The bathrooms are modern and stylish, where shiny chrome fittings are softened by wooden surfaces and walls of tiny pebbles.

Esplendido is a relaxed place to stay, offering a high level of service. Spend a lazy afternoon by the pool, lay back in the outdoor jacuzzi, or indulge yourself with one of the tempting health and beauty treatments. For those more active moments, there’s a well equipped gym, and reception are pleased to help golfers arrange tee-off times at reduced rates. The hotel is situated in the heart of the Port de Soller so you can easily take a stroll along the seafront, eat out at one of the seafood restaurants, or take the old style tram into the ancient town of Soller. If venturing out seems too much bother, Esplendido’s stylish bar and bistro serves up exotic cocktails and tasty local and international cuisine.

Just great thank you! The weather was very pleasant and perfect for a bit of activity and some lounging in the sun. It’s our second time at the Esplendido and it’s still our favourite. It’s a lovely hotel in one of our favourite parts of Mallorca but it’s details that make it for us. Breakfast is always first class, the rooms are spotless with high quality bed linen, pillows and towels, and the staff are all really nice people. We took the boat trip you mentioned and had a day in Palma via the train – both very enjoyable. Thank you very much. — KM

Our last three nights on the island were at the Esplendido in Port de Soller, which we absolutely loved. We had a standard room with a sea view – perfect. The location, the amenities in the hotel, the staff, the general feeling of a slightly grand hotel that is not pretentious or pompous but extremely comfortable was perfect. Esplendido – this was absolutely excellent in pretty much every way. We had a wonderful stay at Esplendido. Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay and everyone remarked on how wonderful the staff were at the hotel and how spectacular the views were from the rooms and from the pool areas. The hotel was always spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. We have just arrived back from Mallorca and I wanted to say thank you for your help recommending a perfect destination for my elderly mother, my daughter and me. Her room at the Esplendido was perfect with fabulous views out to sea. She thoroughly enjoyed people watching from her room and from the run of outdoor tables outside the hotel. It was not too difficult for her to get down the steps and onto the beach. We all loved the amazing breakfast buffet, eaten outside, that lasted us through to the first sangria in the late afternoon. We were able to get about rather more than expected having been lent a wheelchair by an amazing and kind taxi driver who picked us up from Palma airport and offered us use of one that he happened to have – we were able to take my mother the length of the bay, getting to far more restaurants and cafes than would otherwise have been possible; take the tram and wander around the whole market in Soller Old town; take a boat trip. All in all we had a wonderful trip – I am dying to see more of Mallorca and would be back to the Esplendido like a shot! Thanks again — KB
