The Summum is a beautifully renovated former 15th century palace situated in the heart of old town Palma. The buildings historic character has been carefully retained whilst creating an elegant luxury boutique hotel. Using a very modern palate of neutrals and greys this hotel fuses original features of the old building with contemporary design.
Located in the old town, along an old cobbled street, there is easy access to all the sights, restaurants and designer shopping. Head to nearby Avenida Jaume III and Paseo Born for all the big names.
The staff at Summum are welcoming and helpful, happy to arrange excursions and activities as well as making restaurant bookings. For down time, when you just fancy relaxing and soaking up the surrounds (and sun), the hotel has a pretty roof terrace complete with plunge pool and stunning views over the city. For further relaxation head to the vaulted basement for the hotel’s wellness centre with a small heated pool, sauna, fitness area and treatment room.
For drinks, snacks and afternoon tea, visit Bar 1874, a stylish bar that runs out onto a pleasant outdoor terrace with tables and chairs. We’re also rather fond of the Library Club which is tucked away on the second floor, a good spot to peacefully curl up with a book and make use of the tea and coffee making facilities.
For dining, the Equus Restaurant is housed in the palace’s former stables. In a nod to its history, equestrian paraphernalia lines the walls of this elegant restaurant. The lunchtime weekday set menu is especially worth trying, offering high quality French cuisine at a very affordable price. If you fancy staying put for breakfast then there is a delicious buffet every morning.
The hotel has 18 rooms ranging from Deluxe and Premium right up to a suite. The rooms are luxurious, comfortable and individually furnished in muted tones. All have huge king size beds, sofas and spacious ensuite marble bathrooms. If you are really looking for a special stay, then book into the Parietti Suite complete with old ornate painted ceilings and giant bathroom.
